Our Faculty

Our faculty is a group of professional, certified and experienced dance instructors. They are all committed to helping young dancers reach their potential. Our staff is well informed and more than willing to talk to all parents about their child as well as the class.

Amanda HeadshotAmanda Philipp – Owner/Director, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary

Amanda started her dance training at the age of 2 at Longwood Performing Arts and has trained in all styles of dance. Recently, she graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management. At OCU, Amanda performed with the American Spirit Dance Company, Spirit of Grace Dance Company, and Rhythms.

Amy has been with Longwood Performing Arts since 2000 teaching preschool – advanced classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Lyrical. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dance Management from Oklahoma City University, OK. She has performed with the Oklahoma City University Pep Dancers and The American Spirit Dance Company. She continues her dance education yearly by attending many dance teacher seminars.

Denise has performed with the San Antonio Ballet and Harrisburg Ballet Companies. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She has been teaching, choreographing, and performing with Longwood Performing Arts since 1980.

Alisa has been with Longwood Performing Arts since 1987. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She has danced with the Greg Thompson Productions, as well as with Merv Griffin and Tony Bennett.

Renee Wychozowycz – Ballet, Tap, Jazz

Renee is certified with the Dance Educators of America. She has been teaching in the Philadelphia regional area since 1997. Her expertise is with young students in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. Renee joined Longwood Performing Arts in 2003.

Angela Boyd – Ballet, Modern

Angela is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Union having performed in professional productions of “Aida,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The King and I,” “West Side Story;” just to name a few. She has performed all over the world on various cruise lines. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Elementary Education from Hofstra University on Long Island, NY. Angela joined Longwood Performing Arts in 2006.

Colleen Staico – Ballet, Jazz

Colleen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary education with a concentration in middle school math from the University of Delaware. After the completion of her undergraduate degree Colleen taught middle school math for three years at Ann A. Mullen Middle School. Colleen also recently completed her Masters of Education in Dance Education Studies at Temple University.

Samantha Timlin – Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz

Samantha was a member of Longwood Dance Company for five years and has studied all styles of dance. Additionally, she was a competitive rhythmic gymnast for six years and a member of the Junior Olympic team. Samantha most recently performed with and choreographed for Volé, the Penn State Ballet Club, and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.

Ms. Roosevelt founded Longwood Performing Arts in 1978. She studied in New York, Philadelphia and Hartford, Connecticut. She attended the teacher training program of the Hartford Ballet Company, which concentrates on the Vagonava method of classical ballet. Ms. Roosevelt has established a strong school in the community and believes in giving back to the community. Many of Longwood Performing Arts’ students have gone on to perform and/or study dance all over the United States.

cristina pesceCristina Pesce – Tap, Modern, Hip-Hop

Cristina was a member of Longwood Dance Company for six years and has studied all styles of dance. Additionally, she was a competitive Irish Dancer for twelve years. Cristina most recently performed with the University Dance Company at Penn State and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Dance. She will complete her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2015 from Thomas Jefferson University.

Todd Munoz – Hip-Hop

Todd is a Hip-Hop dancer, instructor, and choreographer based out of the Philadelphia area.  During his dance career, Todd has been given the opportunity to perform across the nation, train under amazing dancers and involve himself in performances of a lifetime. Todd has had the opportunity to dance on BET’s 106 & Park. On this show, he has opened for artists such as Diddy Dirty Money, Bow Wow, Lil’ Wayne, and Drake.


Natalie Flynn – Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary

Natalie trained at Oxford Center for Dance, Crane Performing Arts, Koresh Dance Company and ASH II under Braham Logan Crane. She has performed at the “Choreographer’s Ball” in New York City as well as other venues in Las Vegas, Florida, Atlantic City and Philadelphia. Sh currently attends West Chester University for Early Education with a minor in dance.

Amanda Mastronardo – Ballet, Tap, Jazz

Amanda was a member of Longwood Dance Company for four years and has studied all styles of dance. She has performed with the Albright Dance Team and was a captain and choreographer. She currently attends Albright University for education.

Shannon Batdorf – Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary

Shannon was a member of the Longwood Dance Company for several years, where her passion for dance flourished. She most recently graduated from Towson University, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography. In between semesters at Towson University, she had the privilege of training and performing with the PhilaDanco D2 Company in Philadelphia, PA.

Bria Walton – Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary

Bria Walton has studied many styles of dance and has pursued her hip hop training at Academy of Phresh. Bria’s professional credits include Good Morning America, Pharrell Williams Sephora Fragrance Launch, and  was a featured dancer in Todrick Hall’s music video for his visual album. Bria has completed two seasons with Introspective Movement Project, where she danced at the Wawa Welcome to America Festival. In 2014, she was the co-choreographer for an Off Broadway production called Sound Syndrome.
